Beyond immediate assistance, GACH significantly impacts by strengthening Haitian diaspora solidarity, uniting efforts to support the community and amplify its voice.
Stories of hope: quick intervention
A group of 8 Haitian migrants, including women and children, lived in a precarious area in the Dominican Republic. Following a control operation, they were threatened with imminent deportation, without time to gather their belongings or find a solution.
GACH's rapid response
Informed of the situation, GACH intervened quickly to provide emergency assistance (food, water, clothing, hygiene kits), offer human support (listening, moral support), guide individuals to local resources for legal/administrative aid, and facilitate temporary solutions like finding provisional shelter for the most vulnerable. Thanks to GACH's intervention, several group members were able to find safety and support.
