Our origins: a call to action
Organisation GACH was founded by a collective of Haitian diaspora members deeply moved by the situation of our brothers and sisters in the Dominican Republic. Our inspiration stemmed from a profound desire to provide support and solidarity through concrete actions. We believe that by working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those most vulnerable.
How we help: concrete actions, real impact
GACH takes concrete action to support vulnerable Haitians in the Dominican Republic through several initiatives:
- Direct humanitarian aid: Distribution of food, clothing, hygiene kits, and essential products to families in need.
- Support for migrants and displaced persons: Assistance for Haitians facing precarious situations, expulsion, or loss of housing.
- Administrative assistance and guidance: Help understanding legal procedures, guidance to local resources and partner organizations.
- Educational support: Assistance for Haitian children (school supplies, education awareness, mentorship).
- Awareness and advocacy: GACH draws attention to the living conditions of Haitians in the Dominican Republic and defends their fundamental rights.
- Diaspora solidarity: Mobilizing Haitians living abroad to raise funds, gather materials, and provide continuous support.
Our vision: a dignified future for all
GACH's greatest dream is to see a strong, united, and respected Haitian community, where every Haitian, wherever they are, can live in dignity, security, and with real opportunities for the future. We believe in empowering individuals and fostering an environment where every person can thrive and contribute positively to society.
